Getting to Wollongong

The best way to get to Wollongong (possibly other than driving) is by train. Starting at Sydney’s Central Station, trains leave for Wollongong on the South Coast Line approximately every hour (View the timetable). “North Wollongong” is the closest station to Wollongong Uni. “Wollongong” is closer to the CBD; you can catch a free shuttle bus from there (see below).

Parking

Shuttle Buses

There is a free shuttle bus service (the Gong Shuttle) which loops from the CBD to the university. Bus shelters are marked green and the free buses are green.
Buses run every 10 mins on weekdays in both directions from 7am-6pm, then every 20 mins from 6pm-10pm. On weekends the service is every 20 mins 8am-6pm.
Buses are numbered 55A (for anti-clockwise direction) and 55C (for clockwise direction). To go from the University to the CBD, get the 55A. From the University to the Novotel/North beach, 55C is faster.
